2017 Spring Final Exam Schedule

For Seniors:

  • Monday, May 29th Memorial Day No School
  • Tuesday, May 30th Regular classes meet Periods 1-6*
    • Final Exam (50 min) Period 7
  • Wednesday, May 31st Regular classes meet Periods 1-3*
    • (no early release) Seniors take 1st Lunch
  • Final Exams (50 min) Periods 4, 5, & 6  
    • Dismissal 2:05 p.m. with parental permission
  • Thursday, June 1st Final Exams (50 min) Periods 1, 2, & 3
    • Dismissal 10:50 a.m. with parental permission
  • Friday, June 2nd Commencement Practice** 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
  • Friday, June 2nd Commencement 7:00 p.m. (arrive by 6:30)
  • Monday, June 5th No attendance for graduates
  • Tuesday, June 6th No attendance for graduates

*Seniors who are not required to take final exams in any given class period are also not required to attend those exam periods.  Seniors may be excused from school after taking their exams with parent permission.

**This practice is mandatory for those wishing to participate in the Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 2nd.

    • Period 3 Final Exam 10:50 a.m. – 12:00 noon
    • (no lunches served)
  • Tuesday, June 6th Period 4 Final Exam 8:10 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.
    • Period 5 Final Exam 9:30 a.m. – 10:40 a.m.
    • Make-Up Final Exams 10:50 a.m. – 12:00 noon
    • (no lunches served)
    • Make-Up Final Exams 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

*Students who are not required to take final exams in any given class period are also not required to attend those exam periods.  Any students waiting in the building for additional exams will do so in the cafeteria.

Technology Leaders

The Pirates of Silicon Valley documentary showed the growth and competition among Apple and Microsoft. It highlighted Steve Jobs and Bill Gates competitiveness, ingenuity and creativity along with some deceitful business practices. We have also looked at John Atanasoff and his contribution to modern technology both past and today with his concept of binary, regenerative memory and boolean logic (True / False). There have been several other influences in modern technology including:

  • Mark Cuban -Micro Solutions, Shark Tank
  • Paul Allen – Microsoft
  • Satya Nadella – current CEO Microsoft
  • Steve Wozniak – Apple
  • Tim Cook – current CEO Apple
  • Jack Dorsey – Twitter, Square 
  • Mark Zuckerberg – Facebook
  • Other…..

Pick the person that you feel has had the biggest impact of modern computing (computers, mobile devices, internet, etc.).

Write a Weebly blog post that includes:

  • a brief paragraph explaining who the person is, a brief biography, including their highest level of education.
  • a paragraph stating why you think that person has the largest influence
  • include a picture of the person (from the internet)
  • include a picture of the logo from their company
  • include a link to a video of a keynote, ted talk or interview with the individual.
