According to Wikipedia: Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Dolls with movable joints or clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of re-positioning. Stop motion animation using Plasticine is called clay animation or “clay-mation”.
The Rankin Bass Christmas shows such as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was shot at 26 frames per second.
You are going to make a 10 second animation . You are going to have it play at 5 frames per second. You will need approximately 50-60 still pictures. Add appropriate music and titles to your iMovie. Upload the video to Vimeo.
Tips:
- Keep the camera steady.
- Keep your hands out of the animation.
- Make sure you have plenty of consistent light.
After you complete your project, one person on your team needs to fill out this form with your team members and link to your vimeo video.
